Bottled Water Campaigns
Water Access Group was part of a broad movement of student, faculty and staff at Queen's University, in Kingston, that convinced the university to improve access to public drinking fountains and ban the sale of bottled water, as part of the international movement towards reducing this form of water privatization, and one which is environmentally wasteful. We were also involved in the campaign to ban the sale of bottled water at municipally-owned facilities in Kingston, which was approved by City Council in 2009. Read an op-ed on the topic by a Councillor at the time.
