Ever wonder if you can eat fish from Lake Ontario? (Yes you can!). Are there still commercial fisheries in the Great Lakes? (Yes indeed!). Is water quality getting any better? (Yup!).
On May 4 2016, Water Access Group hosted an event called Eating Lake Ontario at Dianne's Fish Shack in Kingston. Chef Paul Dubeau cooked up a 3-course dinner of fish from the Great Lakes. Colin Lake from the Ministry of Natural Resources told us about the history of fisheries and what we can/cannot eat. John Squair from Three Dog Winery in Prince Edward County brought his great wines and talked about his water management practices. The dinner sold out immediately and was lots of fun!
